age 90 passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020. Walter was survived by his immediate family members: His loving wife, Olive Marie; his daughters Gail and Mary (Hovanec), his sons David, Walter Jr., Mark Joseph, and Jeff. Walter is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: Tristan, Carling, Austin, Emma, Samantha, Benjamin, Marissa, Tyler, Brittany, Michael, and Danielle. Great grandfather to Alyssa, Madelyn, Tommy Jr., and Julian. Walter was predeceased by his father David (Judga) and mother Mary. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Rosey and Margie, and his brothers John and Andy.
Walter was born in Cleveland OH and was quiet, but brave person. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1950 at age 20 to perform his service for our country. After conducting guard duty in the Pentagon, he was sent to fight in the Korean conflict. Walter returned to the states and married Olive Marie and started a family. Walter re-entered civilian life as a bus driver and prevented a lady pedestrian from being mugged at night. He changed jobs and became a truck driver throughout the turbulent 60s and 70s. Walter retired in the 80’s and spent his remaining years with his loving wife and family members.
Walter was a very humorous individual and had a multitude of stories that he would tell his family and close friends. For instance, there was the green coffee that he served the officers in Korea that failed to appreciate his cooking skills. Walter had a large, sweet tooth and he would never refuse a powdered donut or ask Marie to bring out some special treat in the evening while watching Jeopardy and the Wheel.
Walter will be deeply missed by everyone, and he will always be remembered by his family and his friends.
