Doris Kupchella (nee Whitsell), age 97. Loving wife of the late Anthony Adam Kupchella, to whom she was married for 62 years. Beloved mother of Diana (Glenn Myers (deceased)), David (Susan), Alan (Marcy) and Marcy Anne. Grandmother of 8 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Great grandmother of 7. Youngest of 6 sisters and aunt of many and cousin to many.
She grew up in Nanty-Glo PA and lived in Cleveland for over 70 years. Doris graduated from Nanty-Glo High School and went on to study at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating in 1944. She worked at hospitals in Pittsburgh, as well as in Cleveland, where she and her husband moved after they married in 1947. Her favorite area of nursing was the newborn nursery. She loved all babies, human and animal.
Family and friends received at HOLOWCHAK FUNERAL HOME; 5548 State Rd. Parma OH 44134 on Friday June 11, 2021, from 7-9 PM and Saturday June 12, 2021, from 9:15-10:00 AM. Funeral Services Saturday June 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception luncheon to follow at German Central on York Rd. (further information will be provided at the funeral).
